White Orange Youth

Description of the Project

WOY runs youth club that meets on weekends. Most of youth go to school, so they have to meet on weekend when they are off from school. They are between 12 and 18 years old. As such, some are from primary school while others are at secondary school.

Objectives

​

The goal of this program is to empower young people through HIV/AIDS education so that they can make informed choice when they want to engage in sexual activities. They also learn about life skills such as communication skills, decision making skills, gender roles, setting goals, peer pressure, etc. to increase their self-esteem.

​

These youth also participate in other community mobilization activities, such as world AIDS day events, as resource person whenever the needs arise. Moreover, they take lead in various activities in their schools such a student learning clubs, environmental clubs or health clubs.

WOY has reached thousand of young people trough youth club activities.
