John Kessy
Co-Founder & Director
John was born and raised in Moshi. He is the oldest of 4 children and has half sisters and brothers. His mother was an agricultural officer working for the government while his father was an accountant.
John has studied social work through face-to-face, long distance and e-learning courses on organizations management, project planning, leadership, psychosocial service to children and HIV/AIDS education. He has also worked as a social scientist on Malaria project and participated in an exchange program in Europe.
John is convinced that youth have huge potential and that they can bring positive social change. He loves to understand youth vision, hearing about their dreams, interacting with them and to try to help them to accomplish a certain step in their life.
John’s dream is to see WOY to grow, to welcome new team members and to geographically expand WOY’s activities. He would like to maintain strategic partnerships with other organizations that they have same belief in order to maximize their positive impact.
