What we do

White Orange Youth aims to empower the youth to reduce the spread of HIV/AIDS in Kilimanjaro Region, Tanzania.

In that aim, we coach them on sexual health education and outreach to the vulnerable children and high-risk communities in rural area. Through our unique education and life skills training, we encourage youth not only become leaders but also game changers. They are the agents that can improve the quality of life for Tanzania.

Strategies

Education

To increase the awareness of  HIV/AIDS, we provide sexual health education and facilitate anti-AIDS clubs in multiple primary schools in Moshi. We also target the minorities such as deaf children, AIDS patients, poor families in remote villages and tailor education events for different audiences.

We understand that youth are mostly influenced by peers so the "Training of Trainers" (ToT) project has been created. The youth trained with leadership skills have become the force of peer educators.

Outreach

Targeting out-of-school youth, high-risk communities such as prostitutes, drug addicts and bus drivers, we reach to their gathering spots and spread the information verbally or specifically-designed sheets, distribute free condoms and encourage them to talk about it before the game and during the break.

Besides, we also provide mobile AIDS testing and counselling with the help of material sponsors and medical professionals.
